Martin Van Boekel, PhD
Martin Van Boekel is a very recent graduate from The University of Minnesota’s Educational Psychology program. For the past seven years at The University of Victoria and The University of Minnesota, he has been studying the cognitive and social factors that influence student learning. Martin’s research interests have two distinct overarching goals. This first goal is to understand how people learn when correct new information conflicts with incorrect prior knowledge. The second goal of his research is to investigate the factors that support positive youth development. In his life before graduate school, Martin was a school teacher. His experience as a teacher continues to inspire and inform all of the work he does.
